After traveling most of the past three weeks, its been great to have a few days at home. Been trying to keep up with everyone's blogs on the road, but its hard to update mine since my pictures are all on the home computer.

These pictures are from the Hilton Carillon in St. Petersburg, FL. I was there for a conference for a few days and I have to say this is probably one of my favorite hotels. It is surrounded by native plantings and wetlands with boardwalks and trails throughout. Its the perfect way to escape the hectic pace and just relax. I took a walk one evening at sunset- the light was amazing.

This anhinga was perched quietly alongside the boardwalk, unnoticed by most who passed by.

A young Common Yellowthroat that was sadly missing a foot. He seemed to be doing fine though and was dining on small gnats at the water's edge.
